Wow! What an amazing trip. If you have ever entertained the idea that you may want to experience and serve on a mission trip, this is the one! Archie and Annette, with Send me Refuge are simply amazing. To see their love and passion, not only for the people of Tapachula, for the teams as well, is to truly witness and experience the love of Christ. You will “receive” much more than you can possibly “give”. If you do not see God’s hand at work on your trip, it is because you are not looking! You may come home different than when you left, recognizing how truly blessed you are, and desiring an opportunity to tell your story. Unfortunately, others will be interested, but can’t fully understand your experience until they go for themselves.

Send Me Refuge was an incredibly inspiring and eye-opening experience. Archie and Annette have perfected this week-long trip with such a beautiful balance of loving on God's children, sharing the Gospel of Christ, bettering the living conditions of those living adjacent to the dump, while making sure mission teams explore local areas and amazing food. It would be impossible to spend time with this mission group and not return home appreciating the MANY luxuries we enjoy and take for granted. Those living by the dump are so genuinely happy, when in our eyes, they are barely surviving. The dump itself is totally heartbreaking, seeing so many people - adults and children, making a living by looking for treasures in the trash. Being able to spend quality time with some of these families and children, even with a language barrier, deepened my appreciation even more for 'The Body of Christ' working together to further Christ's Kingdom on earth. As a Catholic too, the diversity of Christ's Body is ever shining with the goal of unifying Christians being of utmost importance in our world today. Thank you Archie and Annette for allowing Christ to use you in such a big way!

I am a Youth Pastor in Birmingham, AL, and I visited SendMe Refuge with a small mission team in the summer of 2018. I've been to many mission trips, but none of them felt as genuine and special as this one. Our team got a realistic view of Tapachula, Mexico. Praying with families door to door, speechless; when our team got back home we all felt empowered to spread the love of Christ even more than when we started this beautiful journey. teaching children, growing closer to our church team, and even eating street tacos, this is a diverse and gospel centered trip that will leave your team.
